This one just didn't work out for me. It seemed overbrewed no matter how long or short of a time I brewed it. Very caffeinated, very strong malty flavor, it had to be almost drowned in milk to be drinkable. If you prefer espresso to coffee you may like it.

I received this tea in the Assam sampler. An excellent breakfast tea. I like a bit of astringency in my morning tea, in fact this would be the tea to wean a coffee drinker. Not overpowering bitterness but a nice bite.

I loved the strong malty flavor of this tea!!! It is sensational! One of the best Assams out there. I will definitely order it again!!

this is a wonderful tea! the maltiness is well-stated, while keeping balance with the rest of the the brew. this is my first assam and could happily be my last.

I'm still sampling my way through the Assams, but this one impressed me as a great breakfast tea. Full-bodied and malty, and I get a slight peppery hint as well. Perhaps it's not as complex as some of the others, but it's extremely satisfying.

With some of the other assams, especially the higher-priced ones, I can't pick up on the malt (they're almost too smooth). I've been looking for a truly malty assam -- and this is the one!

Reviewer: Derek Weiler,
Is this actually a "single estate" Assam - if yes, we would like to know which one. It is a strong breakfast tea - well-balanced, with bright color and an astringency reminiscent of other breakfast teas that are mixed with Ceylon. A good tea, but I've tasted "maltier" ones.
