A very solid Assam, perhaps less exciting than other choices here (Meleng or Harmutty FOP). The floral notes are not very foreground, I'd have to agree it has a "woodsy" flavor as another review describes it. When I happen to be out of my regular Assams, I happily drink it without feeling like it is inferior in any way, it's just a more laid back flavor. I do like to always have some around for variety. Try it, it may be your favorite.

Impressive value. Nose: spicy, woodsy, sweet/sour; butterscotch (diacetyl) and a hint of acetic acid (vinegar); a bit rustic like a Guangdong black. Still it's an Assam; cup is sweet, some malt and smooth soft tannin; 2d wave of warm woodsy tones - very drinkable, one of those cups that you get to the bottom of before you know it.

This tea is excellent given the price- one suggestion though. Brew it for at least 8 minutes, otherwise you won't get the full Assam flavor. Very malty although lacking in the floral department unlike some Assams (i.e., Hazelbank). Overall very good tea, extra star given for value.

Inexpensive, but tends to be quite bitter at the end of the pot. Important to remove tea leaves once steeped with this one. Not an Assam that I would buy again.

Wow, this is good. I love the Towkok,Doomni, and Salonah so much, I'm almost afraid to try different Assams; this was worth it. I like very strong tea; this stayed smooth, a little sweet.

This whole-leaf Assam tea is indeed an incredible bargain. With other broken-leaf Assams selling for 3-4 times the price of this one, my only concern was taste. No disappointment there; this is a flavorful, strong breakfast tea that can stand up to milk and sugar. The only possible complaint one might have is that the taste isn't as complex as some other Assams.
