Familiar to former tea-baggers. Mild caffeine punch. Pleasantly sidling towards bitter. Great tea for the price. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: A tea Drinker, sisters ,OR December 27, 2007 One of my favorites, comming from a long-time Puh Erh fan. Very pleasant. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: DAVID M , LUBERTOZZI , Oakland ,CA September 17, 2007 4.5 stars for quality (5 being perfection) and 5 for value. Not your typical lemony-minty Lipton type Ceylon, very rich and complex. Nose: dried fruit, warm woody, some floral, sweet pipe tobacco, touch of butter. Cup: light liquor but rich, low tannins. Very sweet, dried candied fruit: raisins, dates, figs, brown sugar, sprinkle of cinnamon; tobacco again, hint of vanilla. Long sweet finish, balanced with a nice acidity. A very complex tea. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: A tea Drinker, Suwanee ,GA September 09, 2007 I bought this as a sampler. It's a good tea - no after taste or bitterness. It does has a bit of a citrus flavor that, while very tasty, isn't what I'd want for an everyday tea. So, I mixed it with 319 Ceylon Vithanakande FBOPF. Together, these teas are incredible. You'll savor every drop. As for some who thing the former is pricey, break it down by cup and you'll see the indulgence is negligible. You can't buy a regular cup of tea for three times the price. A must try. This combination will always be stocked in my house. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: Matthew , Schrank , Chicago ,IL January 14, 2007 This is a pretty good Ceylon. It is flowerly and light with some interesting mid-tones. I reccomend it even over the more expensive Ceylons. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: ST , Sorrentino , Oaklyn ,NJ June 24, 2006 If dictionaries had a scratch-and-sniff feature, this is what the entry for tea would be. A Platonic Ideal. I've tried just about all the Ceylons here, trying to recapture a memory of Twinnings Ceylon Orange Pekoe, a daily ritual some years ago. Memory is tricky, but this tea is recommendable for its uncommon balance- a bright copper, brisk liqour with just enough astringency to be interesting, but not enough to squash the robust nose of floral, citrus and melon-ish notes. Finishes sweet. I belive this balance is best appriciated taking a medium brew neat- no sugar, definately no milk. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: A tea Drinker, Anywhere, US May 13, 2006 This is an everyday tea that goes well with milk and sugar. Some ceylon teas exhibit a pronounced briskness; this one is mild. The sort of thing that you would serve with scones, jam and Devonshire cream. It's a classic that refreshes when you're tired of those exotic teas. ![]() |
