509 China Yunnan Royal Golden [HOME] All Customer ReviewsAverage Customer Review: Write an online review and share your thoughts with other customers. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: Richard , Goldman , Brookline ,MA October 04, 2007 A wonderfully rich, full-bodied brew, and a quality leaf. Signature complex sweet/spicy taste. Happily, no notes of cocoa (which I typically dislike). And wonderfully forgiving! -- I forgot about mine the other night, and decanted from the pot, expecting a nasty bitter brew. There was only a *slight* bitterness, but lots of that rich Yunnan taste. This may replace Bai Hao Oolong (619) as my 'go-to'. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: A tea Drinker, Pittsburgh ,PA September 12, 2006 Nice malty-peppery edge, sort of a china black version of the assam malty 220. I expected a little more, though; my sample came off as being somewhat one-dimensional or perhaps a little flat. For me, best if steeped a bit strong. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: A tea Drinker, Silver Spring ,MD April 26, 2006 I have been eager to try one of the Golden Yunnan teas, and this was the first one for me. I brewed 3g in about 8oz of water for 4 minutes. The first thing I noticed, in my glass mug, was the unique smokey amber color, which I really liked. In aroma and taste, this bore a striking resemblance to a taste that I have found common in the couple of "Green" Pu-Er teas I have tried (they were all probably from Yunnan). I will now forever associate this with a mild and young pu-er, and that is a good thing for me. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: Eric S., Wow, this is good. Not at all bland. Unique. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: BobH., I really like this tea's peppery, spicy and "Chinese" flavor. It is great for breakfast, especially on those days when I want a full flavored brew. ![]() |
