I like most Chinese green teas and, happily, I like this one too. I'd say this tea has a *slight* vegetal aroma and opening, with a medium sweet/slight vegetal flavor, tending towards a sweeter aroma and taste as it cools. [I *don't* much care for the vegetal taste (and tend to avoid Japanese greens for that reason), but this is subtle, and I like it.] I give the second infusion a bit longer (2.5 - 3 min.), and get a brew comparable to the first. Similar to, but somewhat sweeter than Spring Blossom Pekoe (538). I might prefer the latter if I had to choose. Happily, I don't.

Wonderful green tea. Personally, I enjoy green teas that do not have a heavy vegetal aroma, and White Monkey King fits my taste. It has a slightly sweet taste that reminds me of an oolong tea. The only downside is, in my experience, on the 2nd infusion it loses much of its sweetness and begins to taste of your average green tea (slightly vegetal). Great price for a great green tea.

I started liking White Monkey from another vendor, and this is far superior. It's relatively complex, light, and smooth. Upon opening the bag I immediately thought it smelled fresh, and is very much a pleasure to drink. It has quickly become a favorite.

Strong vegetal aroma and opening, somewhat like #531, but a bit more flavor complexity and body. Medium sweet with just a hint of fruitiness as it cools off. I usually prefer a more subtle green, but if you like vegetal the 545 is a strong contender.

For my taste this is pretty much everything a green tea should be; it's fragrant, delightfully mellow, rich, and satisfying. Just a shade less cup clarity than I might prefer, maybe, but that's more than offset by an intriguing hint of cloves in the nose. My advice: ignore the silly name and enjoy the tea.

IN ORDERING TWO SAMPLE SETS,WE FOUND WE INJOYED GUNPOWDER AND YUNNUN GREEN TEAS, THE SERVICE WE THOUGHT WAS GOOD AS WELL.ON ORDERING THESE TEAS THE GUN POWDER ARRIVED PROMPTLY, THE YUNNAN TAKING SOME TIME BEING ON BACK ORDER, WHEN IT DID ARIVE IN FOUR 1/4 LB BAGS THREE WERE FOUND TO BE SO STALE AS TO NO CUP COLOR AND NO TAST OR AROMA AT ALL. I HOPE TO SEE THIS QUALITY CONTROL PROBLUM CORRECECTED. ALTHO I WILL NOT BE SENDING TEA TO MY XMASS LIST AS PLANNED, I WILL ORDER AGAIN TO SEE IF THIS WAS TRULY AN ISOLATED ORCERANCE.

Very good green tea. More of a fruity sweetness than I expected. Second infusion is still full-flavored, but has more of the nutty and asparagus notes without the sweetness.
