Everything I expected from a top grade Lung Ching.....complexity, depth of flavors, satisfying sensations. For my taste, two infusions maximum, although your mileage will vary. Hints of earthy nuts, aromatic rose, palate coating of smoothness. Steeping times depends on life....2 minutes if you're pensive, more if you dare.

This is the clear winner in my Dragon's Well tea samplings. The flavor is full and complex and has that much desired nutty character. While steeping, a soft, toasty aroma emits, producing a light green/gold cup. I find that I have to use less leaf than the other Lung Chings, and get more depth of flavor, thus justifying the 1/4 lb. of this tea that I just ordered.

This tea was not worth what I paid for it. The leaves last for only 1-2 infusions if prepared in a teapot, or 4-5 in a gaiwan - a tea of this alleged grade should last longer. There are notes of chestnut, with a strong allspice finish - quite pronounced for a Lung Ching. I didn't find it very complex, and I drink mostly oolongs and greens. Also, unlike with most teas I've had from SpecialTeas, the leaves I got look nothing like the leaves in the site's picture. This is not a bad tea. It is significantly better than SpecialTeas's Fine Lung Ching. It is just not worth the price. Also, part of the problem may be that I got a stale batch.

Reviewer: Herb Friedman,
I have tried a lot of different Lung Chings and this one is clearly my favorite. It is stronger than I have expected but I love it's nutty aroma that holds up for at least 3 infusions.

Reviewer: frank,
Very similar to Jiukeng, except even more pronounced. Very distinct and flavorful. Perhaps too pronounced for some. Added benefit- really makes you feel good (almost gives you a buzz!). Not a jittery caffeine feeling either.

Reviewer: Lee,
I can't compare it to the Jiukeng, which I haven't tasted, but compared to the Lung Ching (# 523) it's both crisper and subtler. The favors aren't stronger, but they're more in focus. It's a very good tea -- subtly nutty and aromatic -- and I never get tired of it.

Reviewer: Rey,
Smooth, aromatic, and subtle. The nutty hints this green tea imparts adds complexity to the mixture. The best part of the ritual is smelling the tea leaves from the container...very sweet!

Reviewer: Renee,
I found this tea very bitter if steeped too long and yet subsequent infusions were very weak. I didn't find the taste to be unique or memorable.

Reviewer: Susan D,
Well, I'm new to the whole loose tea world and I'm trying a lot of them. This Lung Ching is very nice, it is somewhat subtle, not bitter at all with a wonderful soft but yet focused chestnut flavor(if that makes sense). I will be buying more of this one!
