Just received some of this...very tasty for the first infusion (woodsy, malty notes). I did find, however, that it loses flavor quickly after the second infusion. Also, I was surprised by the number of stems included. For the price, not bad at all...but, as a previous reviewer said, "you get what you pay for."

It tastes to me like a muted, dusty 617. A woody taste, with a bare hint of sweetness. Not unpleasant, but not something I'd seek out. 617 is better, and 619 better still. I think this is an instance of getting what you pay for.

Very bold leaf! Looks and tastes more like a black tea than an oolong. It's a medium-bodied tea with a distinct note of cocoa and a pleasant woodiness. The finish is very slightly astringent. The aroma is the best part. It definitely has a place in my tea chest.

I agree that 611 could be the canonical chinese restaurant tea, which is not such a bad thing! nice roasty flavor and a bit sweetish. Nothing earth shattering, but a decent pleasant tea.

This tea tastes like the type traditionally used at Chinese restaurants. Very likeable and good price. Has a slightly floral finish and naturally sweet.

Sure its fancy and its organic, but that's it. Not very good taste and not worth the capital.

I am quite pleased with this tea. I bought it because my doctor told me that drinking Oolong tea might help with my scalp eczema. I have't drank the tea long enough to know if it works, but even if it doesn't I will drink it gladly, as it is one of the most delicious teas I've drank. I wish I hadn't ordered two pounds of it though. I had no idea two pounds of tea was THAT much. I wonder what would happen if I washed my hair with the tea..I suppose that would help use it up. I have blond hair though, so it might turn my hair a funny color.

A very nice tea. I liked #617 a little better, but for the price, the difference is not enough to make me go back. A very smooth, almost nutty aroma, that I find best drunk at around 85 degrees - that is where I find the most complexity of flavor. This is my new oolong!
