614 Formosa Pouchong [HOME] All Customer ReviewsAverage Customer Review: Write an online review and share your thoughts with other customers. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: A tea Drinker, MCLEAN ,VA April 17, 2009 Something about the smell and taste of this tea makes me think of dough and rising bread. I love that is does not have the seaweed taste of many green teas. It is quickly becoming one of my favorites. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: Colleen , Herndon , Houston ,TX September 04, 2008 Very nice flavor. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: A tea Drinker, Brookline ,MA April 23, 2007 I'm fond of white, Oolong, black & some Pu Erh teas -- but typically *not* green. So, that said ... For me, Formosa Pouchong is firmly in the 'traditional' Oolong camp. Neutral. Enjoyable enough, but I prefer my Oolongs somewhat more oxidized. (My 'go-to' tea is Bai-Hao (70%), which I drink if I don't have anything particular in mind. - Richard ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: A tea Drinker, Pittsburgh ,PA October 19, 2006 I suppose the rules say that #614 has to be listed as an oolong, but it tastes (and smells) like a big strong green, with only a hint of oxidation. (Which does indeed have a vaguely sea-weed flavor, not at all unpleasant.) I don't find it fruity in an absolute sense, but it is much less vegetal than might be expected from a green (sorry, oolong) this emphatic. Not entirely one dimensional either, there is some subtlety underneath all the shouting. Good natural sweetness. Top notch pick for a work-a-day green. (er, I mean oolong.) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: PETER R , LAW , Orlando, FL March 21, 2006 I like this tea. It is mellow and has a hint of a seaweed type flavor. Unique and yummy but slightly pricey. ![]() |
