It's a pleasant enough tea. Woody, earthy, with a very mild, dusty fruity sweetness. Characteristic of the Formosa Oolong; a much more muted aroma & flavor than the Chinese Oolongs (many of which I really enjoy). Maybe I got a poor sample, but I'm really at a loss to explain all the 5 star ratings. I much prefer the clarity of the Bai Hao Oolong.

This tea is everything it claims to be and then some. The leaves are bold with some silver tips, which makes it a very special treat for Oolong lovers. The brewed leaves have a wonderful aroma, somewhat peachy and deliver a rich, flavorful cup right up to the third infusion. The flavor of this tea is smooth and divine and absolutely deserving of the name "Champagne". I'd give it six stars if I could!

All of my experiences with oolong have been terrible. Some were earthy but in a lifeless way. Others were fishy (yeah, gross, I know). I often wondered what all the oolonged fuss was about. Thanks to the previous reviewers, I decided to give it one last shot. And, after much contemplation, I have come to some conclusions regarding this particular oolong. Here is my reaction: Wow. Wowowowowww. I hope this review was informative.

Reviewer: Michael D. Medved,
A very lovely tasting tea and truly beautiful in the cup. I bought a sample size and am now ready to order "the real thing". Highly recommended for those who enjoy oolongs.

Reviewer: Kathleen Smith,
This is truly one of the best oolong teas I have ever tasted. It is a beautiful color and the flavor is sweet and provides a smooth finish. I highly recommend it for the oolong enthusiast.

Reviewer: Chris L.,
I'm impressed with this tea's sweet, floral fragrance. It's soft, refreshing flavor is free of bitterness.

Reviewer: Joe Yurkonis,
It no only makes very good hot tea, it makes the best iced tea I've ever had.

Reviewer: Mark S.,
A great oolong, even when compared side-by-side with the "flagship" of dark Formosan oolongs--Oriental Beauty. Different nuances in taste make it worth trying both.

Reviewer: Paul,
As oolongs go, this high quality Formosa tea is closer in taste to a Darjeeling than to a Ti Kuan Yin. This tea definitely deserves the title of "Champagne Oolong". I find that I can brew the same leaves at least three times without losing any flavor by just steeping for 30 seconds longer each time.

Wonderful! One of my favorites.

Reviewer: Colin Dawson,
I'm really impressed at the reinfuseability of this tea. I usually find that even when a tea says it's reuseable, it's markedly inferior the second and third time around. This one however, stays excellent.
