Mmm...toasty. I think I will keep some of this around for those days when I want some green tea, but am looking for something a little different. The aroma is all toasted rice, but the flavor is smooth. I can imagine drinking this in front of a fire when (if?) it's cold outside.

I'd first like to say that this is the first tea I've ever sampled from this site. With that said, I'd say it's okay, but not really what I'd hoped for. If you really like the taste of puffed-wheat cereal, then you'll like this because that's essentially what it tastes like. It's not a bad taste, but it's really mild and I was hoping for something a bit more bold. For those who would enjoy a tea that is nearly flavorless with a wheaty aftertaste, I'd recommend this one.

Positively the most pleasant tasting green-ish tea there is on this planet. I ordered a two pound bag it was so so good. I share it with everyone and they all love it, even people who don't normally care for greenish teas. The roased brown rice mixed with the green tea gives it such a sweetish earthy taste. You just have to try this!!! I never write reviews, so this is really special and I just want to shout about it. I have lived in Japan for 4 years and missed tasting anything this great.

This tea is quite good although I think you have to be the kind of person to looks the sort of flavor this tea has. You can taste the toasted rice in it quite well and it leaves a wondeful aftertaste. This is not something I would drink often but It would be a great every once and awhile for a change.

This tea is awesome! I was a little concerned when I first opened the tea from the site of it but man was I wrong..Its very nutty and very addicting..

It's a refreshing drink AND a tiny cereal like snack, can't beat that with a stick - A friend of mine introduced me to this tea and I've been a devoted fan ever since. This is my tea break... tea. I would imagine that a coffee drinker would really dig this tea, even though I've noticed most tea drinkers just this it's weird. In the case of this particular, Genmaicha, the green tea bit is really mild and that rice flavor blends nicely with it. Plus, it's a neat game to follow that last piece of rice around the cup until you finally corner it.

Nice! Full-bodied and warm. Yes, has a rice flavor but also a distinct "green" flavor. I don't like it every day but, like the other reviewer said, it's great once in awhile, adds nice variety.

I love rice! so this tea is perfect for me. This is one of my favorite Japan greens. I drink this tea every night with a little sugar. The toasty rice flavor is relaxing and a great way to end my night.

When you're not in the mood for vibrant and grassy, try Genmaicha. The rice really adds a toasty and warm tone to the tea. The only way to describe the taste is earthy or nutty. You have to try it once!

It tastes just like it sounds. Like puffed rice in green tea. I've even tasted the little rice puffs after I've brewed the loose tea. *giggles* It isn't a tea I drink very often, but I like it enough to keep some in stock for when I get a craving. And if I run out, I'll still like the tea enough to buy more when the time comes. Very nice earthy rice flavor. I recommend it. =)
