An ex-coffee drinker, I like a strong, flavorful tea first in the morning to get me going. This tea is my staple. I've tried 4 or 5 different English Breakfast blends, and I much prefer this blend to the others. Until I discovered the 800, I was drinking Taza "Awake," but find this blend smoother and more flavorful.

More an afternoon tea than what I look for in a brekfast blend, but then I tend to prefer Irish and Scottish Breakfast Blends. Lighter, pleasant style.

Reviewer: Tim,
This tea is good, but for me, my stomach was a little upset after it. I prefer the east friesian blend.

Reviewer: Cindi,
I found this tea a little bitter, and needed lemon or a lot of sugar with it.

This one really upsets my stomach. (SpecialTeas note: While we have not encountered such a reaction before, it may be caused by a rare sensitivity to tannins. We recommend trying the tea with a drop of milk. The protein in milk neutralizes the tannins to certain degree.)

Reviewer: Leilani,
I LOVE this tea! It comes the closest in flavor to the teas I enjoyed in England. Just inhaling its wonderful rose-scented aroma right out of the bag is a great way to start my morning. The flavor to me has a hint of roses to it that I find incredibly pleasant. A wonderful morning tea!

Reviewer: Greg,
This is not up to par with the other English Breakfast blends. Its very bitter and hardly flavorful. Not recommended.

Reviewer: L. Rogers,
This is OK, but I prefer the Irish Breakfast, Five O'Clock, and Mt. Everest blends over this one. I've been drinking tea with milk every morning for 30 years now (egads!). To folks who get an upset stomach from black teas, that's the tannins in the tea that cause that. Try it with milk, which neutralizes tannins, or if you are already drinking it with milk, hunt around for a black tea with a low tannin level. Cheers!
