I really want to love this tea, but I don't. I gave it 2 stars because it's a pure decaf-- not a "flavored" decaf green-- and that is a plus. The leaves are a pale green (not dark like you would expect from Sencha) and there is definitely an unfortunate aftertaste. I'm going to stick with it hoping a little sweetener might do the trick as this tea is still better than any other decaf green I've tried.

Unfortunately, this tea doesn't even hint as to what good quality Sencha is all about. Instead of fresh grassy smell and taste you get straw. Note that another reviewer also disliked this tea (likening it to dishwater) but (erroneously) rated it 5 stars. Slooow down. Granting it 2 stars only because it's decaf, which is surely largely responsible for the (slaughtered) taste.

I enjoy this decaf green tea very much. This decaf sencha green tea has a very fresh, crisp & deep green tea taste that I enjoy. All of my guests comment upon it when I serve it also.

Of the decaf green teas I have tried this is clearly the best. It has a prominent satisfying flavor sometimes missing in decafs. This tea brews well; in addition to its great taste it has an attractive dark honey color. I brew it in a boiling hot water for about 3+ minutes in a heavy heat retaining pot.

I disagree that it tastes as good or better than regular sencha. To me, there were undertones of dishwater. Sorry! I'm an avid green tea drinker and tried this green because of pregnancy/nursing.
