Absolutely my favorite tea. Very nicely spiced and in my view one of the best Masala blends around! It is a must to drink this with milk, and sweetener. It's pure decadence in a cup! Great work Specialteas!

I love this Chai, it's a exotic beautiful blend. However, a touch of sugar & cream are needed smooth out the flavors. Soy milk works great too.

Of the dozens of chai blends I've tried, this one is outstanding! It's a perfect balance of tea and spices and it really holds its own with milk and sugar, which is the way chai is intended to be drunk. If you've only had commercial grade or bottled chai, you owe it to yourself to give this one a try. I have to assume that some of the comments here are from people who don't understand the nature of a true chai. It's intentionally strong. It has to be -- it's a "milk and sugar" drink, folks.

I would describe this as a reasonably pleasant tea, but not an outstanding one. I really enjoy spiced teas, both plain and with milk and sugar, but I agree with many of the reviewers here that there is something overpowering in this particular masala chai that gives it an unpleasant bitterness which prevents me from being able to enjoy the complexity of the spices. If you brew for less time, it's too mild for my tastes (I really like to taste the spices), so it seems like there isn't a very good mid-point. I do really like the blend of spices they use (cardamom is an absolute favorite), and appreciate that it's not artificial and over-sweet like so many spiced chais are, so I don't mind drinking it, but I suspect the problem might really be with the quality of the tea leaves, rather than the spice blend.

Sorry, but this is the most unpleasing chai I have ever tasted. The spice was biting without much flavor.

I ordered this as a sample with my first order. The sample was fantastic, so I ordered 1/4 lb on my next order. The 1/4 lb bag did not taste as good as the sample . . . maybe an off batch as it brews up too strong and a little bitter every time. I'll try it again as a sample to see if maybe it was an off batch as everything else I have ordered from SpecialTeas has been amazing in quality and flavor.

I have had many a chai tea, but I have to say, I love this one the best. I will elect to come home and make my own rather than buy it already made somewhere. May take a little extra effort, but it is well worth it.

Chai is supposed to be served sweet and with milk or cream, so if you're not into either, then you probably won't like this tea, and think it's too strong. But I have to say this is the most heavenly chai I've ever had, including most I've ordered in restaurants. It will fill your senses!

The first couple of times I ordered this tea, I absolutely fell in love with it - so much so it became my morning staple. Then I ordered a big 2lb. bag and it was a disaster. I don't know if the tea was old, whether it was packed with humidity or what, but the inconsistency with previous purchases was startling.

This is a very strong overpowering tea. The spices smell fantastic but the flavor is very earthy and "dirty". It also leaves a bitter, dry aftertaste. I would definately recommend a sample pack first, like I did. I tried it with milk and sugar but that only resulted in a sweet earthy flavor!

I've been sipping this stuff for over two years. I LOVE it! I put about a 1/4 of a cup of vanilla soy milk in it after it has finished steeping and it's marvelous! I tried making it w/ all soy milk (no water) and the tea didn't seem to release into the milk...probably user error. Hopefully, you'll like it as much as I do. It's my GO TO morning tea!

After reading glowing comments I ordered sample. I was disapointed, perhaps I brewed in incorrectly, the second time same result, tea had a dirt earthy aroma and strange after taste, seems like to much cardamon, tried mellowing it with vanilla and added cinnamon, but did not help. Maybe a bad batch, had chai from other company that was smooth, malty and spicy, thought this would be similar. In fairness will order another sample see what happens

Mmmmm....is all I have to say. One of the best masala chai I've tasted. Not too strong or spicy, just the right amount of flavor and complexity. Tastes really yummy with cream & sugar. Will definitely order again!

This is my favorite Chai. Yes, it is bold, but Chai is also supposed to be enjoyed with milk and sugar. This and Mt. Everest Blend are our favorites!

I agree that the mix is a bit strong on the spices, and I'm not about to sip on cream all day, so I'm not into mixing it with sugar and moo. But, I like the flavor very much and mix it with other teas, typically oolongs that didn't strike my fancy, dumping them all together in a big bag. Thus diluted it's very good, I drank it all day today with great pleasure. Probably not your typical tea afficiando practice, but who cares! Watch the infusion time the first cup or it will burn you.

It is amazing, absolutely delicious and different. Full of flavor and spice. I especially enjoy it with honey and milk.

It was a little bit too strong for me. However, when I added milk (not something I usually like to do with tea, even "chai") it was good enough for me. The tea itself wasn't too bitter or bold...it was just the spices were a bit overpowering for me.

Very good with sweetener and milk (I am hypoglycemic and have to limit my intake of sugar). Spicy and delicious. Would be excellent on a cold morning or evening by the fire.

This tea was too strong for me.
