There is nothing overpowering or unpleasant about the lemongrass flavor, which I found to be quite subtle. Also, contrary to the comment below, the instructions clearly say to "heat fresh water until steam rises (180ºF)". If you follow these instructions to a "tea", you will enjoy a delightful, light and refreshing cup of tea. I'll be re-ordering this tea regularly. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: Jane , Swart , Charlotte ,NC August 20, 2007 As with the other reviewers, I didn't taste the lemon at all, just the lemongrass. I would have liked to taste both. It gives off almost a skunky nose, like smelling lemongrass flavored Molsen beer! The flavor is much lighter, but be VERY careful not to make your water too hot (do NOT heat your water to a roaring boil as the package suggests) or to steep it for more than a minute or two, or the bitterness really comes out. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: Carissa, I'm convinced they've changed the formula of this tea. When I first tried a sample of it years ago, it was wonderful!! A very crisp refreshing taste of lemon. I ordered some last year and it was very different. All I could taste was this strong flavor of lemongrass. So if what you're hoping for is a lemongrass flavored tea, then this is for you. If you want something that tastes like real lemons, this is not it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: Carissa, I'm still waiting for specialteas to make an official "lemon" green tea that doesn't taste solely of lemongrass. In this blend that's all I can taste....no lemon....just lemongrass. And in my opinion these flavors differ greatly. Unless you know for sure you like lemongrass, I'd suggest buying a sample first. ![]() |
