This rare China black tea from Anhui Province is comprised of delicate young leaves, carefully sorted and then hand tied in the shape of a rosette. During the infusion the rosette slowly opens up to resemble a peony, producing an aromatic cup with faint biscuity notes, natural sweetness and pronounced cocoa flavor. The Red Peony stands up well to multiple infusions and does not turn bitter even after extended infusion time. The rosettes are individually packaged and are great for traveling.
Recommendations: Use 1 rosette per 6-8 oz. cup; heat fresh water to a roaring boil and steep for 4-5 min. Rosette can be left in cup for subsequent steepings and will not get bitter.
