Up until now I have used a drip ice tea maker which works fine but not as easy as this. I have not seen any warping of the infuser yet. The infuser does let small pieces through that may require straining. I think I will try some paper filters. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: A tea Drinker, Camarillo,CA January 22, 2009 A nicely shaped pitcher for the sake of refrigerator space, however it should come with a warning that it's really not appropriate to use with loose tea. You end up having to strain the tea and then try picking out the tea leaves from the holes in the strainer. Works fine with tea bags. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: A tea Drinker, Chula Vista ,CA October 10, 2008 If you make ice tea with loose leaf tea, forget about this thing. The problem is the plastic filter. The filter holes will trap the tea in the holes and there is no easy way to clean it. Using a toothbrush just breaks off the leaves within the filter holes, and you end up having to POKE OUT EACH INDIVIDUAL HOLE with a toothpick. That is a royal pain! The pitcher itself is nice and slim, and fits well in the fridge. I just use it to store the tea I've made the old fashioned way. The filter is no good. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: A tea Drinker, wellington ,OH July 30, 2006 I make a lot of ice tea during the week and I bought this as a second "tea pot for brewing: Overall I like this tea pitcher. It does hold up to heat well and is easy to clean and DOESN'T STAIN! The only complaint is that I've had this pitcher 1 month and already the strainer where the tea is placed is warped. It now doesn't fit well into it's slot in the tea pitcher. Sometimes it falls over and tea leaves get into the tea. Good news is that there is a second strainer in the lid of the pitcher and it does strain out most of the leaves just some small particles get through. Overall a good buy just might have to resort to those paper tea bags is the strainer gets anymore warpped. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewer: A tea Drinker, Northville,MI July 01, 2006 I received the iced tea jug as a gift and enjoy using it, but the steeping holes in the removable tea strainer are too large: the leaves leak into the tea. I usually use tea bags to prevent this happening. Also, the lid isn’t removable so it doesn’t go into the dishwasher, however; I never have to worry about losing it. The size is compact and easily fits in the door of the fridge. ![]() |
