531 China Temple of Heaven Gunpowder
This Temple of Heaven is the highest grade Gunpowder available. Also called Pinhead Gunpowder for its small size pellets, it is made from smaller size leaves than our basic Gunpowder (No. 520). The cup color is slightly lighter and the infusion a bit more aromatic and complex with a flowery undertone. We recommend infusing this tea slightly longer to give the leaves time to unfurl. Try with a mint leaf as "tea a la men menthe".
Recommendations: Use one half tsp. per 6 oz. cup; heat fresh water until it is steaming (170° F to 180° F); let steep for 3 min.
