700 Gyokuro Asahina Extra Fine
Translated "Jewel Dew", Gyokuro belongs to the world’s finest and rarest teas; originally made in the historic Uji tea gardens near Kyoto. Before harvesting, the bushes are covered with straw shades to slow their growth. The result is an exquisite tea that is low in tannins. This Gyokuro Extra Fine consists only of the tender, dark green leaf tips from the first harvest. It is very flavorful and has a fresh, flowery aroma. This mild, vitalizing tea has found many friends among green tea novices and tea enthusiasts alike.
Recommendations: Use 1 heaping tsp. per 6 oz. cup; heat fresh, cold water to first signs of steam (140°F); let steep for 1 min. Try a shorter 2nd and 3rd infusion.
