 We are proud to present a higher grade of Matcha than what we've offered in the past - smooth, sweet flavor in a vibrant green cup! Our top-quality matcha is produced by steaming, drying, and grinding the green tea, tencha into a fine powder. Since tencha is shade grown to inhibit sunlight, it is rich in theanine, known for its ability to relax the mind and restore mental balance.
Matcha has single-handedly made its social and ritualistic mark in Japanese cultural tradition through the Japanese Tea Ceremony, Chano yu. When Matcha is lathered properly with a chasen or bamboo whisk, the tea powder is transformed into a frothy, vibrant green cup, with body and sweetness like no other fully ingested tealeaf in the world. Recommendations: For strong tea, use one level tsp. for 4-6 oz. of water. For a thinner tea, use 1/2 tsp. Place matcha in the matcha bowl, then pour hot water (not boiling) gradually over the matcha while whisking. Mix well.
