348 Nepalese Oolong
Steeped in culture and religion, Nepal is comprised of eight of the world's ten highest mountains including the highest, Mount Everest. The mountainous terrain, elevation and climate (five seasons including the monsoon season) create an outstanding environment for growing tea.
The long, tippy, curled leaves of the Nepalese Oolong infuse to a medium bodied, golden amber cup. The aromatic liquor has a natural sweetness and Darjeeling high notes that evoke images of the pristine Himalayan mountain slopes.
Recommendations: Use 1 heaping tsp. per 6 oz. cup; heat fresh water until steaming briskly (195ºF); let steep for 2½ min. Try a second infusion.
Ingredients: Oolong tea
Health Benefits: Studies show that oolong tea, rich in antioxidants, promotes healthy teeth, skin and bones and can help to lower cholesterol, protect against heart disease and aid in digestion and weight loss. Since oolong tea contains a significant amount of polyphenol (known as tannin), it is believed to account for the lower risk of cancer in tea drinkers because of its ability to help DNA cells to accurately reproduce.
