Darjeeling Teas
Located in northeast India, the Darjeeling tea region is situated in altitudes of over 6,000 feet with breathtaking views of the Himalayan Mountain Range. Due to its unique characteristics and delicate aroma, Darjeeling teas are often called the "Champagne of Tea". Unlike other tea regions that lie in lower altitudes closer to the equator, Darjeeling has a very limited harvest period. The first of only four crops (or "flushes") is called the First Flush.

Darjeeling First Flush
During the winter months - November to mid February - the Darjeeling plants are dormant. The First Flush period begins end of February, following brief spring rains. Its teas have a light yellow to copper-red cup color, sparkling character and a delicate flowery aroma. Darjeeling lovers around the world eagerly await the new arrivals every year, similar to the wine connoisseur’s excitement about the new Beaujolais.

SpecialTeas frequently uses special air transport to ensure the utmost freshness of these treasured teas.
