On the slopes of the scenic Kouga Mountains of the Southern Cape of South Africa in a totally unpolluted environment grows a very special plant - the Honeybush (Cyclopia spp), its name stemming from the scent of the flowers when blooming. Similar to Rooibos, Honeybush tea is naturally sweet, caffeine free and is extremely low in tannin, which is why it will never be bitter. This lovely beverage is what some have described as "super fruity", naturally sweet, and it brews to a deep dark amber color. High in Vitamin C, potassium, calcium and magnesium, it is an invaluable source of anti-oxidants, rare trace minerals and isoflavones. Although commercially harvested and processed, the commercial cultivation of Honeybush is still being researched. This means that for the present Honeybush is harvested in its pristine natural habitat and further processed under very strict supervision and according to very strict hygienic standards.
