Yixing Tea Canister
A brass ring adorns the lid of this exquisite 18-oz Yinxing canister. The traditinal Chinese Inscription recalls the days of the Qing Dynasty ruled by Emperor Xianfeng, which was a peak time of prosperity. Traditionally, these canisters were used to hold crickets, which were made to compete in contests of strength. A favorite pastime among aristocracy of this era, the story is etched into the sides of the canister. You can use it to store crickets, if you like, but we think it's a perfect place to keep rock sugar for your tea!
